Training
The Sipesville Volunteer Fire Company strives to provide the best training opporutnies to its members as possible.  All members are required to take the course Essentials of Firefighting within two years of joining the fire company.
The Sipesville Volunteer Fire Company has a good working relationship with neighboring departments, and participates in monthly training sessions with members from the Acosta, Boswell, and Jennerstown Fire Departments.
With this arrangement each station takes turns hosting training sessions on topics of their choice on the second Wednesday of each month at 1900 hrs.
In 2004 the Sipesville Volunteer Fire Company hosted a series of three 16 hour classes to certify participating members as Vehicle Rescue Technicians through the Pennsylvania Department of Health.
Our station also hosts CPR/AED and HAZMAT operations level refresher courses on a regular basis to keep members certified at these levels current with their training.

In 2004 we reached the Silver level of the State Fire Commission Certification Program.  This is the result of having 75% of active members certified at the Firefighter I or II level.  We continue to strive for excellence and professionalislm as a department, and encourage our members to seek as much training as possible.
