Firefighters Head to Junkyard for Training
On the evening of Wednesday, August 8, firefighters from Sipesville, Acosta, and Jennerstown gathered for monthly training at Hemminger's Auto Salvage yard in Jenners Township.  Sipesville Training Officer Seth Forry broke the attendees into two groups and provided each group with different scenarios and tasks.  Over 22 firefighters attended, along with Squad 607-5, Rescue 608-3, Ambul 605-5, and Rescue 606-6.  By holding interdepartmental training, firefighters can learn about what equipment their mutual aid companies are using, which can translate into smoother operations in the event of a real incident.  Despite a few lingering rain showers, the training session lasted approximately two hours.  The participants would like to extend their thanks to Hemminger's for providing the vehicles and assisting with setup.
