December 31, 2004
On December 31, we were dispatched for an MVA involving one vehicle with unknown injuries on West-Bakersville Edie Road, near the intersection of Brendle Road.  Crews arrived on scene to find a Dodge Durango that had left the roadway, shearing a telephone pole and traveling through 2 barbed-wire fences before coming to rest in a creek bed.  Although the vehicle was moderately damaged, both occupants were self extricated and refused medical treatment.  Firefighters shut down the roadway due to the downed lines, and controlled a minor oil spill into the creek.  Somerset Area Ambulance assisted on scene, and the Pennsylvania State Police handled the investigation.
