October 25, 2005
A strong winter storm passed over Somerset County during the night of October 24.  Due to winter's early arrival in the Laurel Highlands, many of the trees, which had not yet shed their leaves, were damaged by the heavy wet snow.  On average Lincoln Township received around 6-8 inches of snow from the storm.  On the morning of October 25, station 607 was dispatched for its first weather related call.  The initial dispatch was for a downed tree on route 985 at the northern end of the township, but responding members came across additional road blockages and hazards en route to the station.  Engine 607-4 assisted the Lincoln Township supervisors and cleared additional trees from 985 (along the Quemahoning hill), Old Shaffer Road, and Conn Road.  In all, station 607 crews removed about two dozen trees to from the roads.
