October 6, 2007
At 20:29 hrs on October 6, Station 607 was dispatched on a first alarm assist to 624  for a working barn fire on Miller Rd., Jefferson Township.  Engine 607-4, Tankers 607-2, and 607-3, responded to the scene where units were instructed to establish a fill site.  The engine crew established a fill site in a nearby pond, while the tankers began shuttling water to the scene.  The cause of the fire was deemed accidental, but due unfortunately the structure was almost burned to the ground when the first arriving units approached the scene.  Station 607 units remained on scene for over two hours before being released by 624 Chief.  Station 607 would like to thank the Berlin VFD (Sta. 628) for providing an engine and crew for standby in our station during the incident.
