Sipesville Volunteer Fire Company

Around 22:15 hrs on the night of September 29, station 607 was dispatched for a vehicle accident on route 601 in the area of Conn Road. Dispatch advised that there were an unknown number of vehicles involved, and an unknown number of patients or injuries. 607 Deputy responded direct to the scene and established incident command. Engine 607-4 responded code 3 with a full crew. 607 Deputy's initial scene size-up indicated that two separate vehicles (traveling in opposite lanes) had struck a cow that was standing in the middle of the road. One of the vehicles received minor damage, while the second vehicle was totaled. Unfortunately the cow was D.O.A. after the collisions. The driver of the severely damaged car was self extricated, but sustained minor injuries and was transported by a Somerset Area Ambulance unit on scene. PSP handled the investigation and the road was reopened within 30 minutes.
