September 23, 2005
On the afternoon of September 23, around 17:51 hrs, station 607 was dispatched for a tire fire on Hoffman Road in Lincoln Township.  Somerset County 911 advised that there were to be approximately 100 tires on fire at that location.  607 Deputy Chief responded direct to the scene and established incident command.  Sipesville Engine 4 and Tanker 2 responded to the scene.  607 Deputy realized the need for additional resources and requested station 608 and Tanker 606-4 be added to the alarm.  Both stations answered the alarm and responded to the scene to provide additional water and manpower.  Somerset Area Ambulance Association responded a BLS ambulance for standby at the scene.  The Pennsylvania State Police were also notified concerning the origin and type of fire.  All agencies worked well together on scene and all units had returned in service within two hours of the initial dispatch.  A special thanks to Somerset Technician 1367 for sharing these pictures with Sipesvillefire.com!
