At 1723 hrs on September 11, we were dispatched to assist Station
601 (Somerset) with a vehicle accident with injuries at the 219 and North Center
Ave. interchange. Firefighters from station 607, returning home from
stand-by at Mountain Craft Days, were first on scene and handled patient care
and traffic control until 601 units arrived on scene. Engines 607-1 and
607-4 responded to assist station 601. The female driver of the white car
sustained minor injuries and was transported to Somerset Hospital. Station
601 preformed a door pop on the SUV to extricate the elderly male driver.
This patient was transported to Conemaugh Hospital, by ground, with minor injuries.
Somerset Area Ambulance provided EMS on scene and PSP handled the
investigation. |
