Sipesville Volunteer Fire Company

Station 607 was honored to be contacted by the Windber Volunteer Fire Department once again for the purpose of covering their district during the funeral services of one of their own. Firefighter Jeff Keyser, a member of both the Windber and Richland Township Volunteer Fire Departments, was killed in a motorcycle accident on Tuesday, August 22. Engine 607-4, led by Lt. Nick Kovach, made the journey north to Station 611 and stood by in their headquarters from 09:00-15:00 hrs. The Engine crew did not have any alarms during the standby, but did leave the station for a short time to go to Valley Dairy for breakfast. Although the circumstances were not the most favorable, the engine crew did enjoy visiting the brothers and sisters from Station 611. The Sipesville volunteers would like to extend their deepest condolence to to the family and friends of Jeff Keyesr in his untimely passing.
