Station 607 was honored to be contacted by the Windber Volunteer Fire Department for the purpose of covering their district during the funeral services of Joseph Lehman.  On the day of the funeral Engine 607-4, led by Chief Kovach, made the journey north to Station 611 and stood by in their headquarters.  The engine crew was advised that they would also be covering a portion of Station 3's (Richland) district in the event of a vehicle accident, due to Rescue 3-1 attending the funeral service.  The Windber Volunteer Fire Department is the second busiest in Somerset County; however, there were no incidents while Engine 4 was on standby.  The engine crew assisted with traffic control during the funeral procession and then returned back to Station 611.  The engine crew would like to thank the members of 611 for their hospitality while at their station and for their assists to our company throughout the year.
