On August 11, at approximately 1120 hrs, Station 607 was
dispatched to assist Station 601 with a landing zone on Route 219, approximately
one mile north of the 219/281 Interchange. 601 Second Assistant advised
that the accident was located in the northbound lane of 219, three-quarters of
a mile north of the interchange. Station 601 firefighters and Station 900
EMS personnel handled the extrication and packaging of two patients who were
entrapped in a compact car involved in an accident with a tractor trailer.
Engine 607-4 responded and established a landing zone in the northbound lane
of 219 just north of the accident scene. Medstar 1 landed and Sipesville
firefighters assisted the Medstar crew with loading one patient into the helicopter.
Medstar 1 lifted from the scene without incident, and 607 crew was released by 601 Second Assistant. |
