August 10, 2004
On August 10, at approximately 1052 hrs, Station 607 was dispatched for a tree down blocking the roadway and possibly on fire at 297 Sipesville Road.  607 Lieutenant responded direct and advised that the tree was over power and telephone lines, and that it was beginning to catch on fire.  Engine 607-4 responded to the scene and blocked the roadway to prevent any bystanders or motorists from entering the hazardous area.  Penelec was contacted and responded to turn off the power to the lines.  Once the scene was safe, 607 firefighters went to work cutting up and clearing the large tree from the roadway.  After the tree and its debris were removed, the road was reopened and all 607 units returned in service.
