Station 607 was dispatched to assist PSP with a search detail
at Beam's Rock. Squad 607-5 and Engine 607-4 responded with 10 volunteers.
Due to the location of the incident, a request was made for the Jennerstown
VFD to assist with manpower and Ranger 606. Crews setup at command post
on Laurel Summit Rd and learned that a 13 year old girl and her dog had went
missing approximately two hours earlier. Officers from 606 and 607 broke
the volunteers into teams to search the most likely locations where the girl
might be found. The search lasted long into the night as dog teams and other
agencies were summoned to assist. The girl was found nearly 17 hours
later safe and uninjured at a residence in Jefferson Twp. |
