February 18, 2006
On February 18, at 14:23 hours, Station 607 was dispatched for a flue fire at 216 Morris Rd, Lincoln Township.  607 Chief was first to answer up and responded direct to establish command.  Engine 607-4 (J. Shroyer) and Tanker 607-3 (Blough) both responded with full crews.  607 Chief gave Engine 4 orders to lay 2.5" hoseline into the scene and to designate and interior team to search the residence for extension using the TIC.  Task assignments were planned en route and upon arrival at the scene all crew members went to work without hesitation.  The interior crew searched the charlie side of divisions 1-3 and performed a thorough search of the attic crawl space using the new Bullard T3 max TIC.  Meanwhile, the rest of the Engine crew laid hoselines into the scene and laddered the building.  Two crew members were sent to the roof with the hoseline and chimney nozzle, and extingished the flue fire.  The interior crew reported no abnormalities inside the structure and concluded that there was no extension into the wall.  The incident was terminated approximately one hour and twenty minutes after dispatch, when the scene was determined to be safe and all fire units cleared.  This call was the third call in 24 hours for the Sipesville volunteers, and the fourth flue fire of 2006 for station 607!
